Using CompTIA Integration tools in Populi
As for how to use the integration to create integrated links in a course, click the link to the Populi documentation at the bottom of this section, and scroll to ‘Using LTI 1.3 tools in courses’ about halfway down the page. Populi mentions some functionality that LTI tools may or may not support – CompTIA tools support:
-
Deep Linking/Content Selector (and we strongly recommend using it!)
-
Placing multiple pieces of content from the selector at one time – Populi will automatically process graded items into assignments, and ungraded items into direct integration links.
-
Passing grades – our tools do pass grades back within moments of learner completion, though there are not any user-controlled options around that process. Graded items (Practice Questions, PBQs, Practice Tests/Assessments, and Labs) always pass back the latest grade, whereas ungraded items (Lessons, Study Tasks) do not pass anything. For more info on what does and doesn’t pass a grade, see our article on Assignment and Grade Services (AGS).
-
Our tools do not require any additional custom parameters to be configured past the ones that were already set up in Step 7 above, except in special circumstances. Your CompTIA rep will let you know if this is necessary at the time of configuration, but feel free to ask if you are unsure.
