The Boost Dashboard - Group Reports

A tour of the Group Reports available in the Boost Dashboard.

The Boost Dashboard is used for viewing, analyzing, and exporting Student, Group, and Institution reports.

An instructor using the Boost Dashboard can access Student and Group reports. They will only see data for the groups and students they manage directly.

A supervisor using the Boost Dashboard can access Student, Group, and Institution reports. They will see data for all students and groups across the institution.

The data in the Boost Dashboard is updated twice a day. You can always determine how current the data is by referencing the date and time stamp at the top right side of the screen.

From the Boost Dashboard navigation bar on the left, you will see the reports you have access to.

In Group Reports you can see the aggregate data points for the students in a given group: average session time, average Learning Plan progress, average practice score, average PBQs score, and average assessments score. You will also be able to see how many students are in the group, how many courses are in the group, and the last time a student in the group was active.

To see the group data for a specific course, click on the All Courses drop down menu and select your desired course.

You can export the data available in this view to a .CSV file by clicking the Export drop down button on the right.

Next, let’s take a closer look at the data available within a Group.

Click on one of your groups.

Under the Group Overall Session Summary, you will find one datapoint that was not available from the Group Report view on the previous page – Total Time Spent. This shows you how much time all students in the group have spent working in their courses to date.

Under the Course Breakdown Summary, click Analyze to see data specific to a course.

The Active Students Course Overview provides a visual summary of the group’s (1) Overall Progress, (2) Average Practice Score, (3) Average PBQ score, and (4) Average Assessments Score.

The Group Strengths & Weaknesses shows average student proficiency for each lesson based on their answers to practice questions and assessments, and the difficulty of questions. The group can be ranked from Beginner to Expert.

The Details section displays individual group member average session time, average Learning Plan progress, average practice score, average PBQs score, and average assessments score.

If you want to take a closer look at a specific student, use the Search box to find a student in your group via name, email, or ID. Finding a student using this functionality will take you to the Student Reports view.

The Details section provides additional data for group performance on five activities in the course – Lessons, Practice, Assessments, PBQs, and Flashcards.  This view provides insight into the topics and activities in the course the group as a whole is struggling with to help inform instruction.

You can view the lesson pages with the lowest confidence levels as rated by the students in your group. Clicking on the name will pull up that specific lesson page for preview.

You can view the 5 hardest questions in each Lesson as determined by how many students answered the question correctly. Use the drop-down menu to move between lessons. Clicking on any of the 5 hardest questions will show you full question from the lesson.

You can view the 5 hardest assessment questions as determined by how many students answered the question correctly. Clicking any of the 5 hardest exam questions will show you the full question from the Final Assessment.

You can view the 5 hardest performance-based questions as determined by the average score.

Finally, you can view the Flashcards students were the least confident in answering for each lesson or topic. Use the drop-down menu to move between lessons and topics.
