What are eBooks? eBooks are available to guide students and instructors in various CompTIA courses. They are companion resources for your course to help you have the best learning experience.
Where can I purchase eBooks? These eBooks can be purchased at the CompTIA Store, RedShelfor VitalSource.
Can I use eBooks I bought at RedShelf or VitalSource with my CompTIA course? Yes. eBook keys purchased at RedShelf and VitalSource may be redeemed using your CompTIA SSO account.
Purchasing at the CompTIA Store
When purchasing at the CompTIA Store, make sure to:
- Step 1: Ensure that these options are selected:
- Method of Study: Instructor-led Study
- Training Media: eBooks
- Step 2: Scroll through the search results to find the eBook you wish to purchase.
- Step 3: Click on the Details button for that product.
- Step 4: On the details page for your eBook, click on the Add to Cart button.
- Step 5: At this point, you may click on Continue Shopping or Proceed to Checkout and follow the instructions for completing your purchase.
Purchasing at RedShelf
When purchasing eBooks at Redshelf, make sure to:

- Step 1: Go to the RedShelf site.
- Step 2: Scroll through the search results to find the product you want to purchase.
- Step 3: Click on the See Details button for that product.
- Step 4: On the details page, click on the Add to Cart button.
- Step 5: Click on either the Cart icon at the top of the page or the View Cart button.
- Step 6: In the shopping cart, click on the Proceed to Checkout button and follow the instructions to complete your purchase.
Note: You will receive access codes after your purchase is complete. As RedShelf states on their product page, “Publisher access codes are passwords granting access to online teaching and learning tools.” You will use your access code with the CompTIA redemption form.
Purchasing at VitalSource
When purchasing eBooks at Vitalsource, make sure to:

- Step 1: Go to the VitalSource site.
- Step 2: Scroll through the search results to find the product you want to purchase.
- Step 3: Click on the product image for that product to go to the details page.
- Step 4: On the details page, review the details about the eBook and the helpful information on how courseware is accessed, then click on the Add to Cart button.
- Step 5: Click on the View Cart and Checkout button.
- Step 6: On the shopping cart page, click on the Begin Checkout button, then follow the instructions to complete your purchase.
Note: You will receive access codes after your purchase is complete. You will use your access code with the CompTIA redemption form. Your purchase will show up in the Bookshelf of your account. You can click on the Redeem button to begin the redemption process.
Redeeming eBook Keys
When redeeming CompTIA eBook keys, make sure to:

- Step 1: Go to the redemption form.
- Step 2: If you are not signed in, you will be redirected to the Sign In page.
- Step 3: In the Redeem access keys dialog, enter your code in the Enter Code field.
- Step 4: Click the Redeem Now button.
Outcome: After completing this task, you should have purchased one or more eBooks and redeemed the purchase key for use with your CompTIA course.
