Instructors can clear student progress in CertMaster using either of these two methods:
I. Clear Scores for the Entire Class (Recommended)
In CertMaster, instructors can clear scores for an entire class prior to a specific date.
- This is the best option in almost all cases.
- After you set a cutoff date, all scores before that date will be cleared for all students in the class.
- Cleared scores are not permanently deleted — you can restore them later from the same screen.
Steps to Clear (or Restore) Scores:
- Log in to your CertMaster Instructor account.
- From your CertMaster homepage, select the name of the class.
- Click the check box in the header next to "Student," which selects all students enrolled in your class.
- Click Actions and select Clear Scores or Restore Scores.
- Choose the product and enter the date you want scores cleared or restored to.
- Confirm the action by submitting the form.
Important: This action applies to the entire class.
II. Clear Scores for Individual Students
This process is similar to clearing scores for the entire class, but instead of selecting all students, only check the boxes next to the individual students whose scores you want to clear or restore.
Summary:
Even if old scores are still visible, students do not have to wait for a reset to continue learning:
- Students can redo activities, and their new attempts will be recorded in addition to earlier ones.
- Instructors can run class reports and use a date range filter to focus only on current work and exclude older attempts.
- If scores are cleared, the student will no longer see their earlier attempts — but those scores can be restored if needed.
- It is not possible to clear only scores between two dates or “from a date onward.”
