Note: You will not be able to complete this process until you have an open LMS Setup ticket with us. Please read through our article on the LMS Setup intake process, and return here once you have an open ticket.
1. As a Schoology Admin, navigate to Schoology's App Center page for CertMaster LTI Adv.
2. Click Install LTI 1.3 App at the top, and click I Agree.
3. Click Continue to verify you are authorizing Deep Linking, Assignment and Grade Services, and Names and Roles Services.
4. Click Add for Organization.
5. In the list that appears, find the CertMaster LTI Adv app, and click Configure to the right. Copy the Deployment ID for use in Part 2. Cancel out of the configuration dialogue.
6. Open the Registration Form that was sent in your LMS Setup ticket with CompTIA.
7. Paste the following into the Client ID field:
- 7830897240
9. Paste your Deployment ID from Step 5 into the corresponding field, and click Submit.
- There is a known issue with the Registration Form where in some cases, it will reject the Deployment ID saying that it doesn't match the required format. If this happens, please send the Deployment ID to your CompTIA Technical Integration rep in your ticket email thread, and they will enter it manually.
Installing and Configuring the App in your Course
Some schools have this portion handled by an admin, and others by the instructor. Please send these instructions to whoever is responsible for this task at your institution.
- If your integration tool is newly installed, wait one hour before attempting to install/add content. Schoology takes time to propagate the configuration through its system, and errors can appear.
- In the bottom left of your course, select Install Your App(s)
- Select CertMaster LTI Adv and click Submit
- In the Course Options dropdown on the left, select External Tools.
- Click CertMaster LTI Adv, and simply click Submit in the dialogue box that pops up, leaving all fields blank. LTI 1.3 does not require a Key/Secret.
- It may seem odd, but this does prevent later integration issues.
- Return to your course. Click Grade Setup on the left.
- In Categories, choose a default grade category you'd like the links to associate to and Star it. This is required for Grade Sync to function. If you don't use categories, create one and Star it.
Please see our other articles on Schoology LTI 1.3 to learn how to add content links to a course.
