Part 1 - Register the Tool
Note: If you are required to install the integration within a test environment/instance of Brightspace before a production instance please convey this to us so we can prepare appropriate accommodations.
As a Super Admin in Brightspace, click the Admin Tools Settings cog, and select Manage Extensibility
- Click the LTI Advantage tab
- If LTI Advantage tab is not visible: As a Brightspace Admin navigate to Roles and Permissions for the Admin Role, then select External Learning Tools. You should see LTI Advantage permissions. Give the Admin Role all permissions, then Save the changes. If you need additional help with enabling LTI Advantage please reach out to D2L Brightspace support.
- Click on the Register Tool button
- Select the Standard radio button
- Fill out form as follows:
- Name: CertMaster Practice (LTI 1.3 Adv)
- Description: LTI 1.3 tool that connects learners and instructors to CompTIA's CertMaster Practice content
- Domain: https://kf1.amplifire.com
- Redirect URLs:
- https://kf1.amplifire.com/service-integration/lti13/launch
- https://kf1.amplifire.com/service-integration/lti13/content
- OpenID Connect Login URL: https://kf1.amplifire.com/service-integration/lti13/login
- Target Link URI: (Leave blank)
- Keyset URL: https://kf1.amplifire.com/service-integration/lti13/jwks.json
- Click away from Keyset URL to enable the next step
- Select All Extensions
- Leave "Send Institution Role" selected
- Leave Substitution Parameters blank
- Under Custom Parameters, add one, and fill in:
- Name: custom_account_key
- Value: <paste the value your CompTIA rep sent you>
- Copy the Brightspace Registration Details that appear at the bottom of the registration page to an email reply in your implementation ticket thread with CompTIA. (Do not send the email yet -- we need one more ID from the next section.)
- Click the Register button
- At the bottom of the tool registration form, click View Deployments to once again view the registration details and to move on the Part 2 below.
Part 2 - Create the Deployment
- Click the New Deployment button
- In Tool dropdown, select the Registered Tool completed in the first phase of this install.
- Name: CertMaster Practice (LTI 1.3 Adv)
- Leave Description blank
- Under Extensions, the following boxes are required:
- Assignment and Grade Services
- Deep Linking
- Names and Role Provisioning Services
- Under Security Settings, check the following boxes
- Org Unit information
- User Information
- Name
- First Name
- Middle Name
- Last Name
- User ID
- Username
- Org Defined ID
- Name
- Link Information
- Title
- Description
- Classlist including users not known to this deployment
- Under Configuration Settings, check the box for "Grades created by LTI will be included in Final Grade" if desired.
- Click the Add Org Units button
- Search for and select the desired Org Units in your Brightspace hierarchy that you want this tool to be available to
- If selecting a higher-level Org Unit in the hierarchy, be sure to check "This Org and All Descendants" in the rightmost column of the dialogue and check the box for the Org Unit on the left.
- Click Add.
- Click Create Deployment
- Copy the Deployment ID into the email thread with CompTIA, and send it
Part 3 - Create the Link
1. In the Deployment configuration, click View Links
2. Click New Link
3. Name: CertMaster Practice (LTI 1.3 Adv)
4. URL: https://kf1.amplifire.com/service-integration/lti13/content
5. Description: <Leave blank>
6. Type: Deep Linking Quicklink
Change the Width to 1000 and Height to 1000
7. Click Save and Close
Once your CompTIA Technical Implementation Manager has responded that your details have been entered into CompTIA's system, your integration will be ready to use!
