Platform: Moodle (v4 or newer)
Functionality
With Moodle LTI 1.3 with Advantage, there is no longer a one-to-one ratio for grade return. This means that all scores for CertMaster assignments in your course that students complete will automatically be returned to your Moodle Grade Book, whether they click on the actual CertMaster assignment link in the course or not. Additionally, if students log in directly to testout.com to complete assignments, grades will still automatically be returned to the Moodle course Grade Book. Though please note that students need to click at least one CertMaster assignment in the Moodle course for their CertMaster account to be integrated (so scores can return from CertMaster to Moodle).
Each instructor will also want to click at least one CertMaster assignment in the Moodle course. This step will ensure that the instructor CertMaster account is integrated, and automatically create a class in the instructor CertMaster account named after the Moodle course. As each student clicks on their initial CertMaster assignment in the Moodle course, in addition to their CertMaster account becoming integrated, they will also be automatically enrolled in the automatically created class in the instructor's CertMaster account.
Note: Only scores achieved within a Moodle course's start and end dates will be synced to Moodle.
Further Note: CertMaster sends a raw percentage score to the LMS. Then it’s up to the LMS on how to work with the percentage and display the score. In most cases, the percentage calculates against configured points possible in each assignment and awards the student accordingly.
Why are Moodle gradebook columns being created for ungraded section headers?
OR
I'm deselecting items in the "Graded/Ungraded" portion of the content selector, but they're still creating grade book items in my Moodle course. Help?
Some older integrations were configured before the option to split added links between Graded and Ungraded was supported in Moodle. If your integration was configured before the end of 2024, please have your LMS Admin go to your CertMaster tool configuration in Moodle, navigate to Privacy, and change Accept grades from tool from 'Always' to 'As specified in Deep Linking definition or Delegate to teacher'. This will allow your Moodle to correctly process the selections you make in the Graded/Ungraded portion of LTI link placement.
