You can reschedule your CompTIA exam for a different date, time and/or test center location. You may also switch your appointment from an in-person exam at a test center to an online exam (or vice versa).
To switch your exam registration from an in-person exam to an online exam, you must first cancel your existing appointment from your Pearson VUE account.
Note: You must cancel or reschedule your exam at least 24 hours prior to your appointment time. If not, you'll forfeit the exam fee and will need to pay to reschedule it.
To Cancel Your Exam Appointment
- Step 1: Log in to your CompTIA account.
- Step 2: Click Manage Exams in the header or scroll down to the Manage your exams section.
- Step 3: Click the My Exams button and you'll be directed to your Pearson VUE account.
- Step 4: Locate your exam under the Upcoming Appointments heading.
- Step 5: Click the Cancel link.
- Step 6: Click the checkbox to confirm you have read and agree to the Cancellation Policy.
- Step 7: Click the Confirm Cancellation button in the lower-right corner of the page.
- Step 8: Check your email for your cancellation confirmation.
Note: If you don’t receive a cancellation confirmation email, please check your junk or spam folders. If you still cannot locate a confirmation email please review the steps above to be sure you've successfully completed the cancellation process.
Payment Methods
- Payment by Exam Voucher: If you paid for your exam with an exam voucher, the voucher will be reinstated when you cancel your exam appointment. You'll reuse the voucher to reschedule your exam, and remember you must take your exam by the voucher expiration date (typically 12 months from the date of purchase).
- Payment by Credit Card: If you paid for your exam with a credit card, your exam fee will be refunded to your account. (Please allow up to five days for refund processing, as this varies by credit card company.)
Rescheduling an In-Person Exam Appointment
Appointments for an in-person exam at a test center may be rescheduled for a different exam date, time and/or a different test center location.
Note: You must reschedule your in-person exam at least 24 hours prior to your appointment time. If not, you'll forfeit the exam fee and will need to pay to reschedule it.

- Step 2: Click Manage Exams in the header or scroll down to the Manage your exams section.

- Step 4: Locate your exam under the Upcoming Appointments heading.
- Step 5: Click the Reschedule link.
- Step 6: Follow the steps to select your new date, time and/or test center location.
- Step 7: Be sure to review your selections and click Confirm Reschedule on the final step.
- Step 8: Check your email for your new appointment confirmation.

Rescheduling an OnVUE Online Exam Appointment
Appointments for an OnVUE online exam may be rescheduled for a different online exam appointment date and time.
Note: Appointments must be rescheduled prior to the start time of your online exam appointment time.
- Step 1: Log in to your CompTIA account.
- Step 2: Click Manage Exams in the header or scroll down to the Manage your exams section.
- Step 3: Click the My Exams button and you'll be directed to your Pearson VUE account.
- Step 4: Locate your exam under the Upcoming Appointments heading.
- Step 5: Click the Reschedule link.
- Step 6: Follow the steps to select your new date and time.
- Step 7: Be sure to review your selections and click Confirm Reschedule on the final step.
- Step 8: Check your email for your new appointment confirmation.
