To ensure a smooth and successful testing experience, it’s essential to follow all OnVUE online exam delivery policies. Failure to comply may result in your exam being invalidated.
We encourage you to review the OnVUE Online Testing for CompTIA page for detailed policies, procedures, and FAQs. Additionally, check out Pearson VUE’s All-Inclusive OnVUE Guide to Taking Your Online Exam for helpful tips.
Common OnVUE Policy Violations to Avoid
1. Leaving or Leaning Out of Webcam View:
- Your webcam must be forward-facing, at eye level, and show your head and shoulders at all times.
- Once the check-in process begins, you cannot leave the webcam view for any reason, even if the exam hasn’t started or you’ve completed all questions.
- After completing your exam, fully close the OnVUE application before leaving the webcam view.
Note: Leaving the webcam view will result in your exam being terminated and invalidated.
2. Talking or Mumbling Aloud:
- Avoid reading questions out loud, moving your lips, murmuring, or mumbling while reading.
- If the proctor warns you and the behavior continues, your exam will be terminated, and the incident will be reported to CompTIA.
- No refunds or free retests will be provided for policy violations.
3. Third Party Entering the Testing Space:
- Once your exam starts, no one may enter or pass through your testing space.
- You may not communicate with anyone other than your proctor.
- Choose a private, enclosed area to avoid interruptions, including from children or pets.
4. Bathroom Breaks:
- Bathroom breaks are not allowed once the check-in process begins.
- We recommend using the restroom before checking in with the proctor.
5. Wearing a Watch:
- Watches of any kind are prohibited. Remove all personal belongings from your testing space before starting your exam.
- By following these guidelines, you’ll help ensure your exam session runs smoothly.
