Certification Renewal Reminder Emails
CompTIA sends helpful renewal reminder emails throughout your three-year CE renewal period to keep you informed of your certification expiration date(s) and encourage you to plan ahead. These reminders are designed to help you complete your CE renewal requirements on time.
When You’ll Receive Renewal Reminder Emails:
- The day your certification was earned or renewed
- 2 years prior to your expiration date
- 1 year prior to your expiration date
- 180 days prior to your expiration date
- 90 days prior to your expiration date
- 30 days prior to your expiration date
- The day after your expiration date (if not renewed)
Note: Renewal reminder emails are sent from noreplies@CompTIA.org. If you don’t see them in your inbox, please check your spam, junk, or promotions folders.
Keep Your Email Address Updated
To ensure you receive these important reminders and other communications about your certification(s), please keep your email address up to date in your certification account.
If you don’t receive the renewal reminder emails (due to an outdated email address, spam filters, etc.), you are still responsible for knowing your renewal period end date and completing the renewal requirements by that date.
What Happens If You Don’t Renew?
If you don’t meet the CE renewal requirements within your three-year renewal period, you’ll need to pass the current exam to regain certification.
CompTIA does offer a 30-day grace period after your expiration date to pay any outstanding CE fees or upload CEUs. However, this grace period is not an extension to complete additional CE activities.
Plan ahead and renew on time to maintain your certification!
