DataX Is Now DataAI: What You Need to Know
The rebrand from DataX to DataAI reflects how fundamentally the data profession has changed.
Advanced analytics, machine learning, automation, and cloud-native platforms are now standard components of enterprise data environments. Data science and AI are inseparable in practice, and the skills required go far beyond traditional analytics or reporting.
Renaming the certification to DataAI makes that shift explicit, signaling this as an AI-centric, expert-level credential designed for professionals who are building, deploying, and optimizing AI-driven data solutions.
With this change, there will be new logos, and badges. New badges can be downloaded in Credly, and a new PDF certificate can be downloaded in the CM Connect account.
The exam objectives, exam codes, and validity, will remain the same, and there will be no impact on current students/candidates.
DataAI vs. DataX: What’s Changing and What Stays the Same?
CompTIA is renaming the certification program to better align with industry trends, ensuring the value of the certification is clearly understood in the context of ongoing changes in the AI landscape. The core structure of the certification remains unchanged, organized across five domains: mathematics and statistics; modeling, analysis, and outcomes; machine learning; operations and processes; and specialized applications of data science.
