Students of some CompTIA academic partners can purchase CompTIA products at a student discount. To qualify for the discount, they must be an active student at a degree-granting institution.
Student enrollments will be verified through a third-party verification service, SheerID, during the CompTIA academic store account creation process. Your school must be listed on the SheerID dropdown, and the student must submit documentation of enrollment. Not all schools use SheerID, so your school may not be listed. The CompTIA academic store is not currently available in all countries.
Regarding the required documentation, we need to see a school-issued document that shows the following:
· First name
· Last name
· School name
· A date within the current term
Examples of acceptable documents include, but are not limited to:
· Dated student ID cards
· Class schedules
· Transcripts
· Tuition receipts
· Registration receipts
· Official letter from school confirming active enrollment
For student issues with declines: To proceed, please have the student reach out to SheerID individually using their own email addresses by creating a new support ticket at https://support.sheerid.com/en-US/help-center/contact-form. This will allow them to guide them directly through the approval process and request any necessary documentation.
How to purchase with SheerID student verification process.
If you have a CompTIA account with us, you must log in first. If you do not have a CompTIA account with us, you must first create an account.
- Click on Login within the navigation menu, choose 'My Shopping Account'.
- Log in via your CompTIA SSO credentials, or create an account.
- Go to our Certifications shopping page.
- Add desired products to your shopping cart.
- Click 'View Cart' when ready to checkout.
- At Checkout, click on the link 'Student? See if you qualify for a discount.' link.
- A pop-up will appear, and you will be prompted to enter a Country, School, First name, Last name, DOB, and student email address. This is to verify your student status through SheerID.
- If validated, the academic pricing will be applied to your cart. Note: You will receive your best price when you verify your student status with SheerID. No additional discounts can be applied in addition to your verified SheerID discount.
- If not validated, there will be no price discounts applied.
- Enter or confirm Contact and Payment information, update as needed.
- Click 'Place order'
- Your product(s) access keys and exam vouchers will be sent to the provided email address.
- When you activate your product access keys within the training platform, you will associate this training product with your academic institution.
