How Do I Pay CE Fees?
To renew your certification(s), you’ll need to pay Continuing Education (CE) fees if you’re not renewing by earning a higher-level CompTIA certification or completing the CompTIA CertMaster CE renewal course for CompTIA Security+, Network+, or A+.
These fees are based on your CE cycle dates—not the calendar year.
Flexible Payment Options
- You don’t have to pay CE fees annually—you have the flexibility to pay them at any time during your three-year renewal period. Just make sure your total CE fees are paid before your certification’s expiration date to maintain your certification.
Tip: If you hold multiple CompTIA certifications, you only need to pay the CE fees for your highest-level certification. Once renewed, your lower-level certifications will automatically renew as well. For more details, check out Renewing Multiple CompTIA Certifications.

Does CompTIA Offer a Renewal Grace Period if My Certification Has Expired?
https://help.comptia.org/hc/en-us/articles/13922681550228-Does-CompTIA-Offer-a-Renewal-Grace-Period-if-My-Certification-Has-Expired
CompTIA provides a three-year window from the date you earn or renew your certification to complete the Continuing Education (CE) Program requirements and maintain your certification. While we don’t offer a renewal grace period to complete additional CE activities, we do provide a 30-day grace period after your certification expiration date to help you finalize any outstanding requirements.
Here are some important details about the 30-day grace period:
- Once your certification expires, you can activate the 30-day grace period by contacting CompTIA Customer Support. This allows you 30 days from the original expiration date to pay any outstanding CE fees and/or submit your earned CEUs.
- Please note that the grace period does not allow extra time to complete additional CE activities or earn more CEUs. All CEUs must be earned within your original three-year renewal period.
- Unfortunately, no additional time can be granted beyond the 30-day grace period, and exceptions cannot be made.
Please note: Earning another CompTIA certification or completing CertMaster CE during the grace period will not renew your expired certification(s).
