Periodically monitoring your roster, especially during the first couple weeks of class, can help you proactively review details before you or the students have concerns.
This would apply to anyone using CompTIA course material whether you use the CompTIA platform or the school’s learning management system such as Blackboard, Canvas, or D2L.
If you use the CompTIA platform, click on your class name
If you use a Learning Management System (LMS) to access the CompTIA platform:
- Find and click the course link in your LMS course. The link will launch into the assignment.
-
1. Click the House icon
-
2. Under the My Institutions tab click your class name.
-
3. Similar to above, use the student list to compare that with your school roster.
-
-
-
- If any student is missing, contact the student or enroll the student yourself (if the student has an account).
- You will only see report data for students enrolled in your class. However, please note that once students are enrolled, you can view all their completed work.
-
-
-
4. Confirm that in the Required Courses Are Activated column each student has a Yes.
-
-
-
- You will only see report data for this student If a student has a Yes by their name.
-
If a student has a No by their name, that indicates one of three things:
- The student Hasn’t purchased the course for the class.
-
-
-
-
-
-
- They have purchased the course but not activated it yet.
- Or They’ve purchased the wrong course
-
Contact the student to determine why there is a No.
- Ensure they have the purchasing detail.
- Ensure they have instructions on setting up their CompTIA Learning Platform account.
-
If a student purchased the wrong course code, they should immediately contact the seller to correct the situation.
Should you or the student need any assistance, please contact a CompTIA representative - After the student has activated the correct product for the class the No will change to a Yes.

It is also important to note that when looking at the grade book, the students highest score is always posted
However if you use the school's learning management system such as blackboard, canvas, or d2L, grade return could be either the highest or last attempt depending on what your organization has requested so ensure you know what your organization is using and that the students are likewise aware of that criteria also grades may periodically need to be synced between your LMS and the CompTIA Platform to ensure accuracy.
