How to Purchase With an Academic Institution Authorized Promo Code

Use the following steps to purchase directly from CompTIA at the special discounted price for your academic institution. 

Note: You may be able to purchase course access keys from your school bookstore if your instructor does not provide you with an authorized school promo code.

If You Have a CompTIA Account

1. Log in with your CompTIA login credentials.
2. Go to our Certifications shopping page.
3. Add desired products to your shopping cart.
4. Enter your promo code in the Promotional code section of your shopping cart.
5. Click Continue to Checkout.
6. Confirm Contact and Payment information and update as needed.
7. Click Place order.

Your product(s) access keys and exam vouchers will be delivered via email to the email address provided. The access keys you receive using an academic institution authorized promo code will be tied to your academic institution.

If You Do Not Have a CompTIA Account

1. Go to our Certifications shopping page.
2. Add desired products to your shopping cart.
3. Click Checkout as Guest.
4. Enter Contact and Payment information.
5. Enter your promo code in the Promotional code section of your shopping cart.
6. Click Place order.

Your product(s) access keys and exam vouchers will be delivered via email to the email address provided.

The access keys you receive using an academic institution authorized promo code will be tied to your academic institution.

Don’t Have a Promo Code?

No worries, you can validate your academic discount eligibility via our SheerID process.

Regarding the required documentation, we need to see a school‑issued document that shows the following:
• First name
• Last name
• School name
• A date within the current term

Examples of acceptable documents include, but are not limited to:
• Dated student ID cards
• Class schedules
• Transcripts
• Tuition receipts
• Registration receipts
• Official letter from school confirming active enrollment

For student issues with declines:
To proceed, please have the student reach out to SheerID individually using their own email addresses by creating a new support ticket at:

This will allow them to guide the student directly through the approval process and request any necessary documentation.

How to Purchase Using SheerID Academic Verification (No Promo Code)

If you have a CompTIA account with us, you must log in first. If you do not have a CompTIA account with us, you must first create an account.

1. Click on Login within the navigation menu and choose My Shopping Account.
2. Log in via your CompTIA SSO credentials, or create an account.
3. Go to our Certifications shopping page.
4. Add desired products to your shopping cart.
5. At Checkout, click on the link “Student? See if you qualify for a discount.”

6. You will be prompted to enter a Country, School, First name, Last name, DOB, and student email address. This is to verify for the SheerID process.

   • If validated, the academic discount will be applied to your cart.

   • Note: You will receive your best price when you verify your student status with SheerID. No additional discounts can be applied in addition to your verified SheerID discount.

   • If not validated, there will be no price discounts applied.

7. Enter or confirm Contact and Payment information and update as needed.
8. Click Place order.
