Hello, everyone! Today, we will learn how to impersonate a student as an instructor. To complete this activity, you must be assigned the instructor role allowing you access to the Boost Dashboard.
The benefit of impersonating a student is to have a general oversight of the learning plan in the student portal. Impersonating logs the instructor in as that user so they can see what the students sees.
Once logged in to the Boost Dashboard landing page, select the Student Reports tab under Analytics. Next, select the student you wish to impersonate. On the far right of your screen, select Impersonate. A popup will appear requesting confirmation to continue to log on as the student. Select OK.
Before continuing to the students portal, you will receive guidance on refraining from performing any activity for your students while in impersonation mode. Select Continue. To confirm your impersonation, a black banner will appear at the top of the student portal detailing the full name and ID of the student you are impersonating.
Another benefit of impersonating a student is to verify their completed activity as well as providing assistance to any inquiries they may have about the subject matter. Please note that this action does not imply live monitoring of the student's activities within their learning plan.
Remember to proceed with caution. If you perform any activities such as answering a question or marking a confidence level while impersonating a student, it will be recorded as if you are that student.
When you are finished impersonating the student, please sign out of the impersonation by selecting the X on the black banner and you will be redirected to your account.
You have now impersonated a student as an instructor. Thank you for your time.
