Overview
To access CompTIA resources (such as CompTIA Central, CertMaster, and My Account) and log in via Single Sign-On (SSO), your network or email system must allow communication with CompTIA’s domains. This ensures users receive important communications, such as email verification codes required for secure access.
Why Whitelist?
Whitelisting the CompTIA domain is essential so students and staff can receive verification emails needed to log in securely. These emails include only security-related messages, such as:
- Login verification codes
- Password reset links
- Account security alerts
What Needs to be Whitelisted?
Please ask your IT or email administrator to whitelist the following:
- *.comptia.org
- *auth.comptia.org (for more granular controls)
This will specifically allow the delivery of verification and security emails from CompTIA, including those required to access SSO services through sites such as:
- login.comptia.org (CompTIA SSO / Central login)
- Other CompTIA web properties that rely on these security communications
Note
Whitelisting *.comptia.org will not result in students receiving additional marketing emails. Only required security and transactional emails (like verification codes and password resets) will be delivered.
Steps for IT Administrators
Step 1: Whitelist the Domain
Update email and network security settings to allow emails and access from:
- *.comptia.org
- *auth.comptia.org (optional but recommended for fine-grained control)
This may include changes to:
- Email filtering/anti-spam/anti-phishing systems
- Firewall/Web filtering rules
- DNS or proxy configurations
Step 2: Test Access
After updates are applied:
- Have a test user attempt to sign in at https://login.comptia.org (or via your normal link to CompTIA Central/CertMaster/My Account).
- Confirm that:
- Verification code or password reset emails are received promptly.
- The user can complete the login or password reset process without email delivery issues.
